At-Home Learning Resources

Cabot Public Schools is offering additional online resources for students to learn at home.

These learning resources are not required but are available if you are a parent looking for more instruction to supplement your child’s AMI work or teacher assignments.

Here are a few at-home learning tips:

  • Have a family meeting to develop a daily schedule or routine. The schedule can include different types of learning (reading, writing, math, science, social studies, physical activity, art, free time, and educational television). Slots can be between 20-30 minutes long with learning periods distributed throughout the day.

  • Make a space for learning. Dedicate an area that is strictly devoted to learning. Set up a workspace with materials like pencils, paper, art supplies, books and puzzles. This should be a different set-up than where you normally play games or watch television.

  • Don’t forget to take breaks, snack time, and recess. After lunch, go outside and explore. Take a walk and get some fresh air.

  • At the end of the day or end of the week, have a wrap-up meeting with your family. Ask your kids what they liked and what they didn’t like. Don’t be afraid to adjust the routine or schedule.
