Preparing for Emergency Situations

March 10, 2016

Recently, administrators met with dozens of emergency personnel to make sure the district is prepared to handle a crisis situation.

The Cabot School District takes proactive measures to protect the safety of all our students and staff members and works closely with emergency personnel to develop and maintain plans for coping with a variety of emergency response situations.

Two meetings have taken place in the past couple of weeks. Representatives from several organizations, including the Cabot Police Department, Lonoke County Sheriff's Office, MEMS, Allied Ambulance Service, Cabot Fire Department, Cabot Mayor Bill Cypert, City of Ward, Ward Mayor Art Brooke, and school resource officers, all gathered with Cabot School District officials to discuss school safety.

Emergencies from lockdowns, lockouts, evacuations, to active shooter situations were addressed. With nearly 10,500 students and close to 1,400 faculty and staff, it's imperative that everyone works together to ensure safety.
