CJHS/CFA Archery Club Headed To Nationals

Cabot Junior High South and Cabot Freshman Academy Archery teams now have a shot at nationals! Both teams recently qualified and participated in the ANASP State Tournament in April.

Several members qualified for the NASP Middle & Senior Division National Tournament – May 12-14! There will be over 13,000 students from approximately 47 states participating in the three day tournament.

In order to raise funds for the Nationals trip, students and parents of the Archery Club will be hosting a Spaghetti Supper this Friday, April 29th.

Cabot National Guard Armory – Friday, April 29
$10 Adults in advance or $12 at the door | $5 for kids age 11 and under

At the State level students performed very well -- overall the CJHS team shot 3094 points out of 3600. CFA team shot a 3204 out of 3600; finishing 11th place with less than 100 points separating them from 3rd place! Students who advanced to the National Tournament include:

Molly Madar, a 7th grade first year shooter, shot 274 out of 300 to finish 8th place for the Middle Division in Females.  

With their team score, they qualified for the NASP Middle Division National Tournament.

Kaleb Garner shot 290 out of 300, finishing  6th out of 274 students in the Senior Male Division,  After a shootout, he was just 5 points away from 1st place, and won a  $500 scholarship.

Hunter Woerner shot 288 to finish 8th place.

Haley Richardson, a first year shooter, shot 280 to finish 8th out of 192 students in the Female Senior Division.  

With their team score they also qualified for NASP Senior Division National Tournament.
