Power Panthers — January 13, 2017

More than fifty outstanding “Power Panthers” took center court at a recent basketball game for their outstanding work in and out of the classroom.
“Power Panthers” is a student recognition program sponsored by the Cabot Panther Foundation and the Cabot School District. The program honors students in the third through sixth grades who have demonstrated the power and motivation to improve or excel in academics, behavior or citizenship.
Students who received this honor were nominated by a building administrator or staff member. Every Power Panther received tickets to attend the basketball game, a Power Panther t-shirt, and coupons for the concession stand.
Prior to being recognized on the court, students gathered in the auditorium to hear from some district leaders. Supt. Dr. Thurman welcomed the students and their parents along with Mike Verkler, President of the Cabot Panther Foundation.
A student athlete and coach also spoke to the students. Maggie Martin plays soccer for Cabot High School and Coach Charles Ruple is the Cabot Junior High North Girls Basketball Coach. Both encouraged the Power Panthers to continue working hard.
We're very proud of each and every one of our Power Panthers. Congratulations and go “Power Panthers!”
