Cabot Country Cruisers Donation
The Cabot Country Cruisers donated $5,000 to the Cabot School District's PE for Life Program that was raised at their Spring Fling 5K Run in March.

The Cabot Country Cruisers is a running, walking, cycling, tri/swim club located in Cabot, Arkansas.  The club is a member of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA), and the athletes compete in local Arkansas Grand Prix races.  Members also compete in marathons, half-marathons, triathlons, duathlons, Ironman competitions, ultra running, and various cycling events locally and across the country.

They partner with the Cabot School District for several events throughout the year.

  • The Inspiration Run is an event in which the Cruisers, district employees, and community members run 26 miles in one day, stopping at all district campuses to encourage students to be physically active for life. Last year over 100 people participated by running or cycling with the Cruisers. This year the Inspiration Run will be held October 12.
  • The Spring Fling 5K run/walk and Kids' Fun Run is held in March. This event is a Grand Prix Championship event and always has a great turnout. All proceeds from this event go to the Cabot Schools' Physical Education Department to purchase equipment and supplies for students.
  • Summer Family Track Nights is a five week program that is free to the public. During these clinics, children and parents learn proper running form and hydration.
  • The Cruiser's goal is to promote a healthy lifestyle in both adults and youth in the Cabot community.

Cabot Church of Christ 'Backpack for Kids' Program
For seven years the Cabot Church of Christ has collected money from their congregation to support the Backpack for Kids program.  When Cabot school teachers Chester and Becky Brown started working in the district, they realized there was a need for school supplies for some students.  So the Browns took this need to their church, and they were eager to help.

The money raised for this program is given strictly by donations, funds do not come from the church budget. This year the Cabot Church of Christ raised $7,869.00, and that money will help 225 children in the Cabot School District!

In the seven years the church has donated to the 'Backpacks for Kids' program, they have contributed $45,000 to the Cabot School District!

The Cabot School District would like to thank the Cabot Country Cruisers and the Cabot Church of Christ for their donations! The funds will serve the students of this district and help provide them with the support they need.
