Former Congressman Donates Memorabilia to School Museum

April 11, 2017

Former Congressman Ed Bethune recently visited students at Cabot High School. He spoke to a crowd in the media center about his career and his time in politics.

Congressman Bethune represented Arkansas' 2nd District in the United States House of Representatives from 1979-1985. He is a lawyer and also served in the United States Marine Corp.

After speaking with the students and answering questions, Congressman Bethune donated a gold commemorative plate to our Cabot Public Schools Museum of American History. The plate is signed by President George Bush and himself. He also donated two of his books and he autographed memorabilia, including pictures and posters during his time in Congress.

Some of the items he signed were donated by Cabot School Board member Donna Nash. The items belonged to her mother and she wanted to donate them to the school's museum.

Thank you Congressman Bethune for visiting Cabot High School and donating items to the Cabot Public Schools Museum of American History.
