CHS Students Win Gold, Silver, & Bronze at SkillsUSA Competition 2017

Several Cabot High School Career & Technical Education students recently participated in the 2017 SkillsUSA Arkansas Leadership and Skills Championships in Hot Springs.
About 50 students from our outstanding CHS Broadcasting, Criminal Justice, Automotive Technology, Medical Professions, and Construction Technology programs participated in the competition.
All gold medalists will be competing in the National competition in June in Louisville, Kentucky. They also qualified for an in-state tuition waiver to 22 two-year institutions.

Gold - Blayn Lucas
This is the 5th gold medal in the past 6 years. Blayn will be representing Cabot and Arkansas in the SkillsUSA National Championships in Louisville, Kentucky this summer. Blayn also received a two year tuition waiver to the U of A in Morrilton.
Crime Scene Investigations
Bronze - Charlee Bell, Tanner Hewitt, and Maranda Pouncy
This is the 3rd time that the Crime Scene Team has won the Bronze.
Motorcycle Service Technology
Gold - Kyle Stephens -$7,500 Scholarship to UTI (Universal Technical Institute) or tuition waiver to a U of A campus. Kyle has also qualified to compete in nationals this summer.
Silver - Brody Platt - $5,000 Scholarship to UTI
Diesel Service Technology
Silver - Bowen Smith - $5,000 Scholarship to UTI
Power Equipment Technology
Silver - Jonathan Barta - Tools
Bronze - Sammy Sicilla - Tools
Job Interview
Gold - Jansen Hubanks - two year tuition waiver to the University of Arkansas in Morrilton. Jansen will also be competing at nationals this summer in Kentucky.
