Northside’s Color Run Raises Money For Pavilion
May 4, 2017
Last year, it was a walking track. This year, students and faculty raised enough money for a new pavilion!
It was all part of Northside Elementary's Color Run. Earlier in the year, students, faculty, and parents decided they wanted a pavilion on one of their playgrounds. Students sought out sponsors from family and community members. In all, students and faculty raised more than $7,800.
On the day of the Color Run, students made their way around various stations and were sprayed with different colors on their white Northside Color Run shirt. Each grade level ran for thirty minutes. The smiles on the kids and teachers faces proved it was a great event.
Every student who raised more than $50 also received a light up yo-yo or bouncy ball, and prizes were given to the top three collectors.
The Pavilion will be placed on the 2-4 playground and will go up in the next few weeks. It will be a great asset to Northside's playground and can be used for outdoor classes, shade during recess, fitness frenzy, family night events, and community and family use throughout the summer.
A special thanks to all of our community sponsors who helped make the 2017 Northside Color Run successful.
