CHS Student Wins State Investment Essay

September 25, 2017

Cabot High School junior Logan Frank has been named the State High School InvestWrite Winner for spring 2017. Marsha Masters with Economics Arkansas presented Logan with a certificate and a $50.00 award.

CHS Business Education Teacher Stephanie Wade was also awarded $50.00.  InvestWrite is a national writing competition and is a critical thinking part of The Stock Market Game.

Mrs. Wade encouraged students in her entrepreneurship class to compete in The Stock Market Game last spring. It teaches students how to analyze different aspects of a company's financial data to determine their volatility in the stock market. Although the money used to invest is virtual, trading is in real time. Cabot High School had 30 teams compete against 350 teams in the state.

As part of The Stock Market Game, essays were written to convince potential investors why they should invest in companies that support their cause. Logan chose to convince potential investors to put money toward PTSD and companies that hire Vets.

The top essays were judged by the National InvestWrite Competition Board and by four additional professionals and Logan's essay came out on top!

Congratulations Logan Frank and Mrs. Wade on being the spring 2016-2017 InvestWrite State High School Winner!
