The ABC’s of Cabot Schools: 1875 to 2017

December 4, 2017

Students and staff have the opportunity to travel back in time to learn the history of Cabot Public Schools.

For example, did you know that instead of the Panthers, our mascot was the Pirates? Or did you know instead of red and white, our school colors were at one time, purple and gold, and green and white?

You can learn all about these fun facts by visiting the newest exhibit, “The ABC's of Cabot Schools: 1875-2017,” at the Cabot High School Media Center. The items belong to a collection from the Cabot Public Schools Museum of American History which is located at 114 South First Street.

The exhibit was developed by museum interns, seniors Payton Dhooge, Chloe Smith, and Isaac Wolter. Items included: photos, classroom and athletic memorabilia, and documents dating back to the founding of the school in 1875. Approximately 100 items are on display. The exhibit runs through January.

If you have any items associated with school history and would like to donate them to the museum, email Mike Polston at Mike.Polston@cps.k12.ar.us.
