Cabot Schools Adds to Security Team

April 19, 2018

Lieutenant Dwayne Roper has been hired as the new Assistant Director of Safety and Security for the Cabot School District. He was officially hired following the April 16, 2018, Cabot School Board meeting.

Lt. Roper has been employed with the Cabot Police Department since 1991 and will transition to be a full-time employee for Cabot Public Schools. His official start date has not yet been finalized.

Lonoke County Sheriff John Staley will allow Lt. Roper to also serve as a LCSO deputy in the same capacity as our Director of Safety and Security Deputy Keri Jackson. This permits him to be armed and have the authority to make an arrest.

Lt. Roper will be based at Cabot High School. He will work directly with the principal at the campus level and report to the superintendent at the district level. Lt. Roper will also assist other campuses and events as needed.

Deputy Jackson and Lt. Roper will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of all aspects of safety and security for our 10,600 students and 1,500 faculty and staff.
