Cabot Public Schools Museum of American History Honored

April 24, 2018

Congratulations to the Cabot Public Schools Museum of American History and Director Mike Polston.

The Arkansas Historical Association has presented an Award of Merit to Cabot Public Schools Arkansas Great War Letters Project for locating and transcribing letters that World War I soldiers wrote home to Arkansas and making them available to the public online.

This project was initiated by the staff of the museum. The purpose of the Arkansas Great War Letter Project is bring light to the little known letters written by Arkansas soldiers and to provide an easy way to learn about their first hand experiences. These letters were published in many of the local newspapers during the way and transcribed. At present, there are 1435 letters online.

To view the letters click HERE. If you are interested in assisting with the project and would like to help preserve history, you can email Project Director Mike Polston: Mike.Polston@cps.k12.ar.us
