Short & Long-Term Security Planning

May 11, 2018

Director of Safety and Security Deputy Keri Jackson and Assistant Director Lt. Dwayne Roper will lead ongoing safety and security planning for the school district.

With passage of the millage, the district will be able to add security positions to our team.  In addition to staffing, the millage increase would allow renovation to facilities, including playgrounds, to improve security, new technology including live-feed monitors and access control, and additional long-term improvements to ensure the safety and well-being of our students and staff.

As part of the planning process, Deputy Jackson and Lt. Roper plan to meet with law enforcement agencies including the Arkansas State Police. They will work closely with this group of experts to make sure we are doing everything possible to keep students and staff safe.

The Cabot School District is fortunate to have the expertise of Deputy Jackson and Lt. Roper. Supt. Dr. Thurman and the Cabot School Board are proud to have this team leading our security planning.  "We are educators and not experts in safety and security. We look forward to Deputy Jackson and Lt. Roper developing a task force and working with other experts in all areas of emergency preparedness and response as they develop our action plan.”
