2012-2013 Cabot Public Schools Spelling Bee

On Thursday, December 6th, twenty-two District Spelling Bee participants competed to be one of the top six finalist in the Lonoke County Spelling Bee. 

The participants were from Middle School North, Middle School South, Junior High North, and Junior High South.  Michele French, Spelling Bee Coordinator,  explained to the audience that these students were the winners of their respective school spelling bees. 

Before the spelling bee started, the participants were encouraged to pronounce each word, define the word, or use the word in a sentence.  Participants competed in nine spelling rounds and the top six will now compete in the Lonoke County Spelling Bee on January 17th. 

The Top 6:

Jared Gilliam, JHN, 1st place

Gracie McEwen, MSS,  2nd place

Robert Kingston, MSN, 3rd place

Michael Gunn, JHN, finalist

Haden Yancey, JHN, finalist

Jared Shaver, JHN, finalist
