Take 10 Bone Marrow Drive

April 11, 2013

Cabot Classroom Teachers and Keep the Faith Foundation for Kids with Cancer in Memory of Dakota Hawkins partnered together for a Take 10 Bone Marrow Drive.

Three hundred and twenty-five individuals were swabbed at the Take 10 Bone Marrow Drive that was held at the Cabot Community Center March 5. Students from CHS and both junior high's volunteered their time, co-sponsors from CTA and KTF Foundation worked the tables, and approximately 40 athletes from the Harding Bison's football team were swabbed.

Many teachers, coaches and school staff took 10 minutes out of their busy schedules to be swabbed. The day was awe-inspiring and we are eager to see how many bone marrow matches will be found and to share the follow up with our community!

Several local school students and teachers came to give monies raised at their school for our annual KTF Foundations' Pennies from Heaven campaign to help children in our community who are fighting cancer as well as in our state.

Sharon Hawkins stated "We are truly humbled and grateful our son's memory was honored in such a magnitude as this."
