Scholastic Book Award Presented to Eastside Elementary

Eastside Elementary School was honored by Scholastic Books for accumulating the most reading minutes in Arkansas this past summer in the Scholastic Book Summer Reading Challenge.

First Lady Ginger Beebe and Ms. Melissa Freeman presented the award to Eastside students during an assembly.
 

Families at Eastside were also encouraged to continue reading this fall. All students and faculty participated in a school wide read-along using the award winning book Charlotte's Web.

After the presentation ceremony, every class was visited by a reading hero including First Lady Ginger Beebe, House of Representatives Speaker of the House Davy Carter, members of the Cabot Fire Department, many military representatives, and several parent volunteers who shared their favorite book with students!
