Elementary Quiz Bowl Tournament 2014

January 28, 2014

On Friday, January 24th, 4th grade students enrolled in the Cabot Public Schools Gifted and Talented Program participated in the annual district Quiz Bowl tournament at First Baptist Church in Cabot. Seventy-one 4th grade students took part in the academic competition. A total of sixteen teams, each coached by a Cabot High School student, was comprised of the district's 4th graders, and students attempted to best one another's knowledge in areas such as math, science, vocabulary, spelling, literature, trivia, sports, and geography.

Members of the first place team, coached by John Gray, included team captain Peyton Cook, Sydney Temple, Michael McCarty, and Chandler Meadows.  The second place team, coached by Alec Ramirez, included team captain Jackson Jolley, Kayla Havel, Drew Johnson, and Kylie Harris.  Kason Kimbrell coached the third place team: team captain Preston Hodges, Jessie Rhodus, Amber Jared, and Jacob Hicks.

The G/T Program would like to say a special thank you to First Baptist Church for their hospitality and all parents, families, community members, administrators and district employees who were in attendance Friday.
