Scholarships Awarded to Cabot Seniors

The announcement of scholarships awarded by the Cabot Scholarship Foundation brought $93,550 in good news to 92 Cabot High School seniors.

The Scholarship Foundation was established in 1992 to raise funds for college scholarships for Cabot students. The scholarships are provided by people that live in and support our community.

Many scholarships are named in honor or in memory of someone. Anyone that would like to sponsor a scholarship can contact John C. Thompson, Nina Butler, Carole Jones, Stephen Tipton, Fred Campbell or Calvin Aldridge.

Two additional scholarships were awarded to Rebecca Moffett and Page Labrot for the Bonnie Tipton and Densial Tipton Memorial Scholarships, respectively.

Since the foundation started, they have awarded 532 scholarships totaling over $537,000.

The Cabot Scholarship Foundation Banquet will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Junior High North Cafeteria at 7:00 p.m. to honor these students.

Tickets can be purchased at the Cabot High School office and Centennial Bank (West Main location) for $30 each or $240 for a table of eight.  This year's roastee is State Representative Davy Carter.
