Dr. Thurman Appointed to State Council

Dr. Tony Thurman was recently appointed to the State Council for the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunities for Military Children by Speaker of the House Davy Carter.
The purpose of the interstate compact is to create an easier educational transition for military children and ensure uniform treatment of students transferring between districts and states.
Arkansas was the 44th state to join the Military Interstate Children's Compact Commission when Governor Mike Beebe signed Senate Bill 15 in February 2013.
Lonoke County Judge Doug Erwin administered Dr. Thurman's oath of office for his official acceptance of this appointment.
