Cabot FFA students competed in Leadership Development Events. These events are designed to improve the public speaking skills of the participants.  Each contest drives the students to build confidence in their speaking abilities, increase their knowledge of agriculture issues, and demonstrate how to defend their point of view while respecting the views of others.

The 1st and 2nd place students will now move forward to compete in the District LDE Competition to be held at ASU-Jonesboro on December 2nd, 2014.  If they place 1st or 2nd at the district competition they will further advance to the state competition to be held in June at the Arkansas FFA State Convention.  If they are able to win 1st place at the state competition they will advance and compete at the National FFA Convention in October.

Background:

Cabot FFA is the second largest chapter in the Arkansas FFA Association with 374 members. Students are competitive in livestock exhibition, leadership development events, and career development events.
