Panthers PRiDE Celebration

Cabot Middle School students show their PRiDE and “Refuse to Reuse.” It was all part of the 2015 PRiDE Celebration. 

Cabot Middle School North and Cabot Middle School South 5th graders celebrated the successful completion of the Panther Resisting Drugs Education Program. 

This drug resistance curriculum educates students about the damaging effects of drugs and substance abuse. It also helps equip our students with the needed refusal skills to fight peer pressure. 

The celebration took place Monday, April 27th, in the Cabot High School Fine Arts Auditorium. Cabot Mayor Bill Cypert, along with Cabot Police Chief Jackie Davis, Assistant Chief Danny Clem and members of the Cabot Police Department attended the event. 

Lonoke County Sheriff John Staley also congratulated the students on their hard work. The sheriff's office provided a k-9 demonstration with Cpl. Brent McCoy and drug dog, Officer Jasper and Deputy Tyler Barber and drug dog, Officer Pajti.

Cabot Junior High forensics students also presented a reader's theatre performance.  DJ Mickey Spillane emceed the event and provided entertainment as well.

Freshman Academy School Resource Officer John Dodd, was also presented a plaque for all his hard work and dedication to the PRiDE program.

The PRiDE program was developed by Health and Wellness Coordinator and Central Elementary Dean of Students, Kelly Spencer and Cabot Police Officer and School Resource Officer, Officer Yvonne Kackley.
