Lexi Weeks Named 2014-15 Gatorade AR Girls Track & Field Athlete of the Year

A recent Cabot High School graduate is receiving top honors. The Gatorade Company, in collaboration with USA TODAY High School Sports has named Lexi Weeks its 2014-15 Gatorade Arkansas Girls Track & Field Athlete of the Year. Lexi is the first Gatorade Arkansas Girls Track & Field Athlete of the year to be chosen from Cabot High School.

The award not only recognizes outstanding athletic excellence, but also high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the track. Lexi is now a finalist for the prestigious Gatorade National Girls Track & field Athlete of the year award to be announced in June.

The 5-foot-6 senior pole vaulter, hurdler, jumper and sprinter won three individual state championships this spring and numerous other accolades throughout the year.

Lexi has maintained a 4.34 GPA and has signed a National Letter of Intent along with her sister, Tori, to compete in track and field with the University of Arkansas this fall. Both plan on majoring in Chemistry and will pursue careers in Pharmacy.
