March School Board Recognition 2024

All-State Choir

Students auditioned for the All-Region Choir where they had to sing excerpts of pieces they've been working on. The top 20 in each section were eligible to audition for the All-State Choir.

They had to learn all new music for this as well as sight read a small piece in their audition. The top 50 in each section were named to the Arkansas All-State Choir, which is a huge honor!

Student Spotlight
Amery White, Southside Elementary

Amery White is a 2nd grade student in Ms. Taylor's class. Her principal, Tori Harrison, says she works so hard everyday and comes to school excited to learn. She has seen great growth in her Math and Reading MAP score. Her family, especially her dad and his support has been crucial in her success.

PLC Building Recognition

Carla Eifling, Southside Elementary

Carla Eifling is a paraprofessional at Southside Elementary. She works with kindergarten through 2nd grade students in the PLC process and reviews data and CFA's with grade level teams. She holds Kid Talk Meeting to determine a student's best plan and incorporates Capturing Kids Hearts into every area of the building (cafeteria, hallways, recess, small groups). Ms. Eifling reads to kindergarteners and she is always willing to jump in and help!

New School Board Officers were also elected: President Joe Trusty, Vice President Marvin Jones, and Secretary Dr. James Hertzog.
