“Chomps visits CJHN to say “Thank You

April 5, 2016

Cabot Junior High North Science Club students had a special scaly visitor Friday. “Chomps” the alligator dropped by to say “thank you.”

“Chomps,” a three-year-old alligator lives at the Arkansas Alligator Farm in Hot Springs. Managers Jaime and Suzy Bridges brought the gator to CJHN to personally thank the science club students for buying two baby alligators for the farm.

Last year, 13 alligators, including 12 babies were stolen from the Arkansas Alligator Farm.  Patti Benight, teacher and science club sponsor helped the students organize a fundraiser. Students sold bracelets for $1.00 and within just a few weeks they raised $250 to purchase the two new baby gators.

The Bridges are grateful for the donation and for the students who raised the money.
