German Students Leave Lasting Impression on New Cabot Friends
April 7, 2016
Thirteen German students had the chance to experience life at Cabot High School recently.
As part of the GAPP (German American Partnership Program) students from a high school in Aschaffenburg, Germany spent nearly three weeks in Cabot learning about American life and school.
Betsy Leopard-Montgomery is the German teacher and GAPP coordinator at Cabot High School. She says most of the exchange students were amused by how nice people were and they were surprised by our school hours and schedules. One of the students said in Germany, school hours depend on the day and some of the teachers actually come to their class instead of students switching classes.
During their visit, the exchange students had the chance to speak to students in Keystone, Spanish, and German classes at the Cabot Freshman Academy. They gave individual presentations about their hobbies, school, favorite foods, and life back home.
This summer, 10 Cabot High School students will be visiting Germany as part of the exchange program.
