Camp Invention 2018 Inspires Cabot Students
June 25, 2018
Camp Invention is a STEM (Science, Technology, Education, and Math) camp for students entering kindergarten through 6th grades. Camp Invention was recently held at Magness Creek Elementary and students rotated through different hands-on engaging classes during the day.
Students this year had the opportunity to learn about design and coding in the “My Mini Mansion” module. In “Robotic Pet Vet,” students ran diagnostic laboratory tests to determine the health of their pet and then customized a robo-pet and constructed their one-of-a-kind dog park. In the “Stick To It” module, campers learned what it meant to be an inventor: thinking through challenges, overcoming failure, testing and retesting, and even took time-out to play with magnetic slime.
Ninety-nine students participated in Camp Invention along with five teachers, seven high school leaders, four counselors in training, and two parent volunteers.
Thank you to everyone for making Camp Invention 2018 a huge success!
