Academic Awards for Students at CJHS
May 17, 2013
Cabot Junior High South recently held an academic award ceremony where 260 students were recognized for their academic achievements.
The 'Dakota Hawkins' Award is presented to a student who has faced major obstacles in his/her life, persevered, maintained a positive outlook, and still succeeded in the classroom.
The Dakota Hawkins Award started as the South Spirit Award in 2003 but was changed in 2007 when student Dakota Hawkins was diagnosed with an acute form of leukemia. Heather Keister, a 9th grader, was this year's winner of the award.
The Principal's Award is a special distinction for 9th grade students who have maintained a 4.0 GPA all three years at CJHS. Principal's Awards were presented to Sarah Davis, Darian Doakes, Aric Grunwald, Mattea Harper, Heather Hill, Emily McGee, Kristen Morris, Danielle O'Shields, Alyssa Perry, and Sydnie Reedy.
Congratulations students for your outstanding achievements.
