Arkansas School Board Member Recognition Month

The Arkansas State Board of Education has approved a resolution proclaiming January as Arkansas School Board Member Recognition Month.

The month-long observance is an opportunity for the Cabot School District and community to build a stronger understanding of the crucial role school boards play.

The Cabot School Board consists of seven outstanding community leaders.

 

Donna Nash, President

Donna is a retired teacher, and her husband is the late Brooks Nash. Her two children, Brooklynn and Mike, are graduates of Cabot High School. She received her B.A. degree from UALR and her M.A. degree from UCA. Donna is a member of Cabot United Methodist Church.

Brian Evans, Vice President

Brian and his wife, Melissa, have two children that attend Cabot schools. Brian, a native of McCrory, Arkansas, is the President and CEO of L&L Freight Services, Inc. He is the vice president of the Cabot Panther Foundation, a board member of the Cabot Chamber of Commerce, coaches youth sports and serves on the Executive Committee of the Transportation Intermediaries Association. Brian and his family are active members of Faith Baptist Church where he serves as chairman of Faith Baptist Academy and on the church's Finance Committee.

Ricky Hill, Secretary

Ricky and his wife Cynthia have two children. Glenn is a 2013 Cabot graduate and attends Texas A & M University, and Julie is a sophomore at Cabot High School. Ricky graduated from Cabot in 1986 and received his Bachelors and Master Degree from Arkansas State University in Agriculture Business and Economics. He is currently employed as an Executive Vice President  of Commercial Lending for Bank of the Ozarks.  Ricky also is a part of the Cabot Panther Foundation Advisory Committee, LRAFB Community Council, Cabot Rotary Club, and the Cabot Chamber of Commerce. Ricky and his family are members of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.

Fred Campbell

Fred previously served on the Cabot School Board for twelve and a half years ending in 2011. The appointment will last until the regularly scheduled election for this position in September 2015. Fred is retired from the banking industry and currently serves on the Cabot Scholarship Foundation. Fred and his wife, Linda, have two grown children, Terri Eide and Johnny Campbell, and four grandchildren, who attend or have graduated from the district. Fred and his wife are active members at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.

Dean Martin

Dean and his wife Ann have two boys, including one Cabot graduate. Dean is the Maintenance Squadron Commander for the 189th Airlift Wing of the Arkansas National Guard at Little Rock Air Force Base.

Mark D. Russell

Mark has one son, Jared, who attends Cabot schools. Mark graduated from Cabot in 1991 and completed his college education at UALR. He currently works as an adjuster for Frontier Insurance Adjusters. Mark and his family attend Cabot Church of Christ, where he is head of communications.  Mark also coaches youth football and basketball.

Corey Williams

Corey is a Division President & Chief Lending Officer for Centennial Bank. His wife, Amy, is the Executive Director for the Cabot Chamber of Commerce. They have three kids, Alex, Lauren, & Logan. Corey graduated from Arkansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing Management. He serves on the Cabot Panther Foundation Board. Corey and his family are members of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
