More Than $100,000 Being Awarded To Graduating Cabot Seniors

February 26, 2015

February 26, 2015

The announcement of scholarships awarded by the Cabot Scholarship Foundation brought $102,000 in good news to 99 Cabot High School seniors. Students were notified Thursday that they will receive a scholarship, however, they were not told what scholarship they'll be receiving or how much. That news will be announced at the Cabot Scholarship 'Roast & Toast' Banquet next month.

The scholarships range from $500 to $2,500.

The Scholarship Foundation was established in 1992 to raise funds for college scholarships for Cabot students. The scholarships are provided by people that live in and support our community. Since the foundation started, it has awarded 624 scholarships totaling more than $630,000.

Many scholarships are named in honor or in memory of someone.

The Cabot Scholarship Foundation Banquet 'Roast & Toast' will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Cabot Junior High North cafeteria at 7:00 p.m. to honor these students. Tickets can be purchased at the Cabot High School office and by Scholarship Foundation Board Members (John Thompson 501-628-2952, Nina Butler 501-605-3754, Carole Jones 501-605-3663, and Stephen Tipton 501-690-4634) for $30 each or $240 for a table of eight.

This year's roastee is Eugene Crouch.
