End of Year District Staff Meeting 2016

Hundreds of teachers and staff were recognized for their hard work and dedication at the end of year district staff meeting Thursday. 

Citations

Representative Charlotte Douglas, Representative Tim Lemons, and Senator Eddie Joe Williams presented both a House of Representative and Senate Citation to teacher Laura Abbott. Mrs. Abbott is a dedicated advocate for domestic abuse victims and has worked tirelessly with legislators on five bills related to the prevention of domestic abuse. 

Mrs. Abbott is also a domestic abuse survivor and was the force behind Laura's card, a Victim's Rights Card recognized by the Arkansas Attorney General. Mrs. Abbott also serves on the Board of the Arkansas Commission on Child Abuse, Rape and Domestic Violence.

Teachers with Heart Award Winners

The CTA Teachers with Heart Award is given to educators who go above and beyond in and out of the classroom. The twelve finalists were chosen based on nominations from parents, colleagues, principals, students, and community members.

Two teachers (one elementary teacher and one secondary teacher) were awarded $300.00 at the end of year district meeting.

Tony's Regatta Winners

The last day of school ended with a big splash. District employees and their families were invited to the new Cabot Aquatic Water Park for the end of year festivities. Tony's Regatta included cardboard boat races, cannonball contest, and the watermelon plunge. 

Congratulations to the winners and thank you again to the Cabot Parks and Recreation for allowing us to enjoy their wonderful new facility.

Service Recognition

Hundreds of teachers and staff were also recognized for their many years of service in the Cabot School District. Those retiring or leaving the district were honored as well.
