Top Anti-Bullying Speaker To Visit Cabot Students & Parents

September 13, 2016

One of America's top anti-bullying speakers and the creator of the Victimproof Bullying Prevention Program will be sharing his anti-bullying message with thousands of Cabot students.

Tom Thelen has spoken at more than 500 schools and conferences and he'll be visiting the Cabot School District Tuesday, September 20 and Wednesday, September 21.

During this time, Thelen will speak to 5th-12th grade students from Cabot Middle School South, Cabot Middle School North, Cabot Junior High South, Cabot Junior High North, Cabot Freshman Academy, and Cabot High School.

A parent night will also be held Tuesday, September 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Cabot Freshman Academy. Parents of students of all ages are invited to attend and hear Thelen's message. Members of the community are also welcome. We hope to fill every seat. Stopping bullying is a priority and we need parents to help us Stand Up Against Bullying and be the change.

Thelen's mission is to inspire groups of all ages to take responsibility for the choices and to make a positive impact.  He says when students take ownership of their lives, their choices, and their character; it creates a win-win for the students and for the school.

Thelen's school assembly program takes students on a journey through his own life story. He was a normal “face in the crowd” kid who never struggled with drugs or alcohol, but instead lived with a victim mindset. One of his high school teachers stepped in and helped him break free from the bullying cycle. While traveling America, he shows students how to stand up to bullying and how to “BE THE CHANGE” on their campus.

*A very special thank you to the Cabot Junior Auxiliary for helping sponsor this anti-bullying event. Thank you for always supporting the Cabot School District and our students.*
