2016 Teacher of the Year Visits Cabot Schools

December 7, 2016

Two Cabot Schools welcomed a very special guest recently. Meghan Ables, the 2016 Arkansas Teacher of the Year visited both Southside Elementary and Cabot Middle School South.

Ables first stopped by Southside Elementary to surprise a teacher with a very special award. Tina Dunn is a fourth grade Literacy teacher and has been teaching at Southside for 11 years. Ables presented her with a Teacher Impact Award for going above and beyond and not only making an impact in the classroom, but her community as well.

Mrs. Dunn was nominated by two of her co-workers. Afterwards, Ables toured the school and visited with students and staff. She then headed to Cabot Middle School South.

At Cabot Middle School South, Ables visited with a very special group of students. These R.E.A.L. (Respect, Explore, Achieve, Lead) Panther recipients enjoyed sharing all the reasons they love their school. Ables then visited with other students and staff. She ended her visit speaking to CMSS students at an assembly.

Thank you Meghan Ables, 2016 Arkansas Teacher of the Year for visiting our schools and learning what makes our students, teachers, and staff so great at the Cabot School District.
