Power Panthers — February 7, 2017

February 16, 2017

Another group of outstanding “Power Panthers” were recognized at the February 7th basketball game for all their hard work.

“Power Panthers” is a student recognition program sponsored by the Cabot Panther Foundation and the Cabot School District. The program honors students in the third through sixth grades who have demonstrated the power and motivation to improve or excel in academics, behavior or citizenship.

Students who received this honor were nominated by a building administrator or staff member. Every Power Panther received tickets to attend the basketball game, a Power Panther t-shirt, and coupons for the concession stand.

Prior to being recognized on the court, students gathered in the auditorium to hear from some district leaders. Supt. Dr. Thurman welcomed the students and their parents along with Mike Verkler and Ricky Hill. Mr. Verkler is president of the Cabot Panther Foundation and Mr. Hill is president of the Cabot School Board.

A student athlete and coach also spoke to the students. Marcus Graham plays football for Cabot High School and Football Coach Brandon Jay both encouraged the Power Panthers to continue working hard.

We're very proud of each and every one of our Power Panthers. Congratulations and go “Power Panthers!”
