2017 Governor's Young Artist Exhibit Competition

This competition is sponsored by the Governor's Mansion Association. It consists of a statewide juried exhibition of artwork entered from across the state that addressed the theme of emotion and energy in art.

The works will be displayed at the Governor's Mansion this month, April 2017. Prizes will be awarded at the 2017 Awards Reception. The reception will be hosted at the Governor's Mansion in early May.

The CHS Art Department is also delighted to announce Andrea Lafave as the winner of the Best of Show Award for the state and a $1,000 scholarship for her entry in the Junior Duck Stamp Competition.

The piece was done in watercolor and colored pencil and is an original composition from Andrea's own photographs of local duck habitat and birds at a taxidermist. Her work will be entered in the National Federal Junior Duck Stamp competition.

Congratulations to all our outstanding and talented Cabot High School art students.
