2017 Gatorade Secondary School Athletic Trainer of the Year — Jennifer Asberry

October 9, 2017

Staff at the Cabot School District is second to none and Jennifer Asberry is a great example of someone who demonstrates dedication and commitment toward our student athletes.

Jennifer, Associate Head Athletic Trainer of Cabot Public Schools, was recently chosen as the District 6 2017 Gatorade Secondary School Athletic Trainer of the Year! Jennifer works tirelessly to guarantee each student athlete has the best healthcare provided for them.

The Gatorade Secondary School AT Award recognizes a certified athletic trainer from each NATA district who has made outstanding contributions in furthering his or her high school's athletic care program or the overall profession of Secondary School Athletic Training.

Injury care and management is a huge asset the athletic trainers at Cabot School District bring to our district.  The Cabot Athletic Training staff serves over 2,000 athletes in the Cabot School District and in the 2016-2017 school year, the CPS staff serviced over 1,900 visits to the athletic training rooms from basic wound care, injury prevention programs, to rehabilitation of athletic injuries. This has not only helped our student athletes receive more care for their injuries in a more convenient atmosphere but has also saved student athletes parents thousands of dollars.

Implementations of programs for concussion protocols, venue specific EAPs for 25 different locations/sports, parent/athlete healthcare meetings, certification of coaches with CPR/AED, and non-school related athletic health care meetings are just a few achievements the athletic training staff has accomplished in Asberry's four years at Cabot.

Gatorade is proud to support the hard work and dedication of secondary school athletic trainers like Jennifer, and congratulates her on her outstanding work ethic!
