Cabot Students Participate in Red Ribbon Week & Unity Day

October 23, 2017

Red Ribbon Week, Oct. 23rd-27th

Cabot students will be saying “No to Drugs” October 23rd - 27th during Red Ribbon Week. They will be participating in several activities during the week to understand what it means to be drug free, learn the dangers of drug abuse, and take the pledge to a healthy lifestyle.

Many schools will have different themes to dress up each day, so make sure to follow your school on social media for announcements.

Unity Day Wednesday, Oct. 25th

Students in the Cabot School District will also be participating in Unity Day, Wednesday, Oct. 25th. Unity Day encourages students and staff to Unite and Stand Up Against Bullying.

Bullying can happen in any place at any time. It is serious and can threaten a student's physical and emotional safety and negatively impact their ability to learn at school. The best way to stop bullying is to address it before it even starts.

Students in K-4 will be given brag tags with the saying, “Be a Buddy, Not a Bully.” Fifth and 6th graders will be given tags that say, “Don't be Mean on the Screen.”

K-6 students will also make paper chain links and will write quotes or draw ways to be kind on them. On Friday, October 27th, representatives from those schools will meet at the Cabot High School track to link the chains and show unity.
