Lady Panthers Set Up for Next Season

November 2, 2017

The Lady Panthers Volleyball Team, led by Coach Kham Chanthaphasouk and Anna Roberson, wrapped up their season for the year. They finished in the 7A Central Volleyball standing with a 9-22 overall record and a 3-11 conference record.

The Lady Panthers were a young team this year with only one senior, captain Mollie Johnson. Mollie finished her senior year with 221 kills, 247 digs and 28 serving aces.

Although this season just ended, the Lady Panthers plan to return to the court reenergized and focused. With a potential of nine seniors next year, Cabot will have a core group that should take them far.

CHS Volleyball team consisted of the following students:

SENIOR
Mollie Johnson

JUNIORS
Aria Bolman, Devyn Britt, Morgan Brown, Kallie Cavin, Hayden Chapman, Caitlyn Rogers, Sydney Teer, and Ashlee Wilkerson.

SOPHOMORES
Alexis Davis, Emma Everett, Marissa Gilmore, Madison Moon, Grace Neal, Charlie  Pearson, Ivee Roperez, Layne Smith, Madilyn Taylor, Hannah Teague, Makeely Wade, Elizabeth Wiens, and Megan Chudy.

MANAGERS
McKenna Leach and Hailey Morris

Some player highlights from this season include:
Sydney Teer had 33 serving aces and 631 assists. Teer was also second in digs behind Johnson with 145. Morgan Brown and Ashlee Wilkerson could be known as the “Lady Twin Towers” the way they perform on the defensive side of the game. They were both first and second in solo blocks and assisted blocks. With the Lady Panthers only having 122 blocks total on the season, the two of them combined for 72 blocks.

The Lady Panthers will have a young, yet talented team next year and look to have a bright future. Great teams come with great team chemistry and hard work and these Lady Panthers are willing to do whatever it takes to reach the top of the podium again. As next season rolls around, definitely believe that these Lady Panthers will be ready to spike the competition to the ground.
