Patrons of the Cabot School District rejected a 2.0 mill increase to fund safety and security staffing, equipment, and renovations.
Superintendent Dr. Tony Thurman issued this statement following the announcement of the election results.
"First of all, the Cabot School District would like to thank our parents, patrons, and community members for their continued support of our students and staff. Obviously, we are very disappointed in the outcome. Our goal has been to remain transparent about our district-wide safety concerns, funding challenges, and long-term security needs. Regardless, the Cabot School District will remain vigilant in protecting what matters most and continue to make the safety and security of our students and staff a top priority with the resources we have available."
