Panthers Sign To Play Sports At Collegiate Level: Golf, Baseball, Softball & Swim

The Cabot High School Media Center was recently filled with friends and family to watch six student athletes sign letters of intent to play sports at the college level next fall for Golf, Baseball, Softball & Swim!
Congratulations to Blaine Calhoon (Golf - UCA), Connor Gaunt (Golf – Arkansas Tech) Zach Morris (Baseball – University of Arkansas), Zack Slunder (Baseball – University of Arkansas Fort Smith), Sami Romano (Softball – Evangel University), and Izzy Dulin (Swim – Williams Baptist College).
In front of a large crowd the first signee was Blaine Calhoon. Blaine, along with proud parents Brian and Renee, signed to play golf for the University of Central Arkansas next fall. Blaine is looking forward to continue his golf career and to play with some of the best golfers in college. Blaine chose UCA for the overall college atmosphere and is excited to work with the new staff and team. Blaine has been golfing from a very young age and was part of the 2018 Boys State Championship Team! Blaine was also the 2018 Top Individual Medalist this year.
The second student to sign to continue playing golf next fall was senior Connor Gaunt. Connor, along with parents John and Monica, signed his letter and is excited to golf at Arkansas Tech. Connor is looking forward to the collegiate level for the competitive playing experience and amazing coaching staff. Connor was also part of the 2018 State Boys Championship Team and was named All Conference and All State for three years. Connor was also named the ASGA Player of the Year two years in a row! Connor plans on majoring in Business and Marketing while attending Arkansas Tech.
It's Hog Baseball for Zack Morris! He, along with parents William and Stacy, signed to play baseball next fall at the University of Arkansas. Zack has played baseball since he was four years old and continuing to play at the U of A is a dream come true for him. Zack is also excited to play in the SEC!
He plans on studying Kinesiology and Physical Therapy while attending college. Zack was a member of the 2017 State Baseball Championship Team.
Zach Slunder was the second baseball signee! He, along with proud parents Scott and Robyn, signed to play baseball (middle end fielder) next fall at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith. Zach plans on majoring in Business Administration while attending college and is looking forward to the new experience and challenge in his life. Zach played on the 2017 State Baseball Championship Team and was All Conference.
Sami Romano will be attending Evangel University next fall. Sami signed to play softball along with proud parents Anthony & Terri by her side. Sami fell in love with the Christ centered campus and said it felt like home. She is excited to meet her new team and making new friends. Sami plans on studying Allied Health and Science and is looking forward to all the activities the school has to offer.
The final signee of the day was Izzy Dulin! Izzy, with parents Shawn and Charity, signed with Williams Baptist College for Swimming. Izzy plans on majoring in Education while attending college, and is looking forward to their outstanding Education department. Izzy has been swimming for nine years and last year finished 3rd place overall at the State Championship in the mile swim. She has also qualified for state championship meets for Cabot and her USA club team in both long and short course for the past 5 years as well.
What a great week for Cabot High School student athletes! Congratulations again Blaine, Connor Zach, Zack, Sami, and Izzy!
