Make-A-Wish Sends CHS Student To Super Bowl 2019

January 25, 2019

A Cabot High School senior received a gift of a lifetime. Thanks to Make-A-Wish Mid-South, Gunter Garvin will attend Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta, Georgia on February 3rd.

The surprise reveal took place at a recent home basketball game at Panther Arena. Gunter thought he was participating in a halftime game. As he was shooting basketballs blindfolded, his family and Make-A-Wish representatives came onto the basketball court to surprise him.

Gunter took his blindfold off and was greeted by a huge Panther crowd for the big reveal. Make-A-Wish representative Amanda Smith announced to Gunter that his wish was granted to attend Super Bowl 2019.

Gunter was diagnosed with an enlarged heart in 2016 during a routine physical to play football for the Cabot Panthers. While his dreams of playing football were cut short, his condition is not stopping him. You can now find him with our CHS athletic trainers taking care of our players as a student trainer/aide.

Gunter plans to attend ASU Jonesboro and become a nurse. Congratulations Gunter and thank you to Make-A-Wish for making his wish come true!
