Free Breakfast Program Huge Hit With Students!

August 22, 2019

Since the Cabot School District implemented its free breakfast program, nearly 23,500 meals have been served to our students. That's 11,397 more meals served in the first seven days of school than this time last year!

The district is extremely excited that students are taking advantage of this program. In fact, it's not uncommon to now see a cafeteria full of students enjoying a nutritious breakfast each morning.

You'll remember, the district announced this new initiative in July. The Cabot School Board made it a priority to make sure the district was able to provide this opportunity for a free breakfast to all our students (pre-k-12th grade) free of charge for the 2019-2020 school year. When students are hungry, it is hard to concentrate on learning. We are already seeing a positive impact on our students.

Superintendent Dr. Thurman says even your student is eating breakfast at home this is still a great opportunity to have a second breakfast at school. We want our students to have full bellies and we hope parents will continue to encourage their students to take advantage of this opportunity!
