CHS Senior Named One of Sixteen Smith Scholars

May 6, 2015

May 6th, 2015

Senior Grant Tarvin has been selected as one of sixteen Smith Scholars for 2015, the only student in Arkansas.

The Governance and Scholars Committees of the Kenneth M. Smith Scholarship Fund invested considerable time in reviewing the applications, transcripts, essays and support letters submitted by 94 JAG applicants.

JAG or Jobs for America's Graduates is a state-based national non-profit organization dedicated to helping young people overcome barriers to high school graduation and become college and career ready.

The 94 students who applied were the top JAG students across the 36 states that have the program in their schools. Cabot High School's JAG Program is nationally recognized as well. The year-long class teaches many important life skills.

Grant will receive the JAG scholarship check in the amount of $1,000.

Congratulations Grant Tarvin on your recognition and scholarship!
