CHS Athletic Trainers Work with Cabot Emergency Personnel
August 7, 2015
Cabot High School athletic trainers are working with emergency personnel to make sure athletes stay safe. Friday afternoon, the athletic training department, Cabot Fire & Rescue, as well as MEMS met to discuss new safety protocols.
They even demonstrated how equipment should be taken off an injured athlete in the case of a possible head/spine injury. Head Athletic Trainer Jason Cates say his goal is to stay on top new guidelines and procedures and to make sure athletes get the best treatment and care.
The Cabot School District is the only school in the state to employ four athletic trainers. Our Sports Medicine Program is also nationally recognized and serves as a model to other school districts.
