Cabot’s Braden Jay Named 2021 AR Hooten 6A/7A Offensive Player of the Year

Senior football player Braden Jay was selected as the 2021 Hooten Arkansas 7A/6A Offensive Player of the Year at the recent Farm Bureau Insurance awards banquet.
The Farm Bureau Insurance Awards honor Arkansas’ top offensive player, defensive player, and coach of the year for each classification. The staff at Hooten’s Arkansas Football selects three finalists for each category, and those 45 finalists and their families attend the award ceremony.
The three finalists for the 7A/6A Offensive Player of the Year were Braden, Isaiah Satenga from Fayetteville, and Sharmon Rester from El Dorado.
Here are some of Braden’s highlights while at Cabot 2019-2021:
* Total receiving yards – 2743
* Total receptions – 142
* Total receiving touchdowns – 26
* Total kickoff returns – 1706
* Total kickoff return touchdowns – 5
* Total all-purpose yards - 5185
* Total career touchdowns – 42
* One interception for 54 yards
* Total receiving yards in a game – 232 (2021 against Conway)
* Total receiving touchdowns in a game – 4 (2021 against El Dorado)
* Total longest kickoff return in a game – 98 yards (2019 against Catholic)
We are very proud of Braden and wish him the best of luck next year at Harding where he will continue his football career.
