Graduation Update - Class of 2023

September 12, 2022

As the District has previously shared, Simmons Bank Arena has decided to no longer host graduation ceremonies at their facility.

The seating capacity of Simmons Bank Arena is 18,000. The typical attendance for a Cabot High School graduation is 8,000-10,000 guests. The district has researched and considered all the following venues:

Keep in mind when considering seating capacity, once the graduation stage is set up, we will lose a number of seats. The seats directly behind the stage become unusable. Also, smaller venues will require multiple graduation ceremonies.

Venue Capacity
War Memorial Stadium (LR) 54,120
Barton Coliseum (LR) 7,150
Farris Center (UCA) 5,500
Jack Stephens Center (UALR) 5,600
Benson Auditorium (Harding) 3,500
CHS Panther Arena 2,134
CHS Panther Stadium 5,400

The Class of 2023 is expected to consist of 745 graduates.

In evaluating all the pros and cons of the venues listed above, the Cabot High School Class of 2023 graduation will be held at War Memorial Stadium on Friday, May 19th. We will begin the ceremony at 7:30 p.m.

More details, including a contingency plan in the event of inclement weather, on Graduation 2023 will be forthcoming.
