Cabot High School Baseball Coach Goodwin Captures 200th Career Win

At Cabot's home game on Friday, April 14th, the Panthers defeated Little Rock Catholic in a 3-2 walk-off win securing a memorable win for Coach Goodwin! Goodwin has been coaching in Cabot since 2013 and the victory over Catholic marked his 200th career win!


Immediately following the win, Assistant Athletic Director Kasey Wylie and Superintendent Dr. Tony Thurman presented Coach Goodwin with a congratulatory banner and commemorative gold bat. Family, friends, and his team surrounded Coach Goodwin as he celebrated this memorable moment in his career.


Congratulations Coach Ronnie Goodwin, his wife Beth, and son Hayes on his 200th career win and a wonderful career thus far at Cabot High School!


Coach Goodwin History:

Coach Goodwin graduated from NLR High School in 1997. He was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 1997 MLB Draft. Goodwin attended WestArk Community College his Freshman year and signed with Ole Miss following his freshman season. Goodwin was a 3-year letterman at Ole Miss!

After graduating in 2001, he was drafted by the Florida Marlins. After finishing his major league career, Coach Goodwin spent 8 years as an assistant coach at the University of Central Arkansas. Coach Goodwin coached one season at Little Rock Central (19-11 overall record) before being hired by Cabot to lead the Panther Baseball Program!

Since August of 2013, Coach Goodwin has poured into our students daily and led our program with dedication, competitiveness, respect, and devotion to our student-athletes. In 2017, Coach Goodwin coached our Panthers to their first baseball state championship in school history. He was named the 2017 High School Coach of the Year by the Arkansas Activities Association and USA Today.

In his tenure, numerous athletes have signed athletic scholarships to compete at the next level.
