CHS Celebrates Five 2027 National Merit Semifinalists

September 15, 2026

Cabot High School is proud to announce that five seniors have been named 2027 National Merit Semifinalists.

Congratulations to: Juliana Bridges, Ava Berryhill, Brayden Howard, Maddox Lane, and Zachariah Parrish.

National Merit Semifinalists

More than 1.2 million juniors from approximately 20,000 high schools entered the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2025 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

More than 16,000 students nationwide were selected as Semifinalists, representing less than 1% of U.S. high school seniors. Of the 157 students selected as National Merit Semifinalists in Arkansas, five are from Cabot High School.

These academically talented students now have the opportunity to advance to the Finalist level and compete for approximately 6,700 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $24 million.

To become a Finalist, Semifinalists must meet several requirements, including maintaining an outstanding academic record, receiving a recommendation from a high school official, completing an essay, and earning SAT or ACT scores that confirm their performance on the qualifying test.

More than 15,000 Semifinalists nationwide are expected to advance to the Finalist level, with Finalists notified in February.

Congratulations to our five National Merit Semifinalists on this outstanding academic achievement!
