Buddy Benches - No Child Should Feel Left Out
August 31, 2016

Two schools have new additions to their playgrounds thanks to Home Depot in Cabot. On Tuesday, they received 'Buddy Benches.'
The first delivery came to Cabot Middle School South. Sixth graders Logan Williams and Chase Holloway thought of the idea after hearing some students didn't have friends at recess. They didn't want anyone to feel left out. Now if someone needs a buddy, they just have to sit on the buddy bench.
The Buddy Bench idea is a nationwide initiative. The concept orginated as a simple idea to eliminate loneliness and foster friendships on the playground. Several Cabot schools have buddy benches but these are the first for Cabot Middle School South. After making the delivery, Home Depot headed to Central Elementary to deliver two more buddy benches to that school as well.
CMSS students Logan Williams and Chase Holloway spoke to KARK 4, THV 11, and The Leader Newspaper on the purpose of the 'Buddy Bench' and why it's important for students to be united.
Thank you again to the Home Depot in Cabot for donating the materials and for constructing the buddy benches.
