December School Board Recognition

December 16, 2016

Two teens committed to helping others were recognized at the December school board meeting.

Community Service Recognition – Dylan Handy

Dylan Handy is a senior at Cabot High School and is devoted to helping others. He helps feed the homeless in Little Rock with FishNet Ministries in Jacksonville, he helps collect and sort clothing for Hope's Closet in Cabot, and he spent a week with his youth group in Atlanta ministering to those in need. In fact, his youth group came to the board meeting to support Dylan.

Dylan was recently featured in Arkansas Living Magazine and says he wants to be a teacher. This 17-year-old is determined to continue making a difference in the community.

We are very proud of you Dylan!

PALS Program Donation – Rebekah Harris

Rebekah Harris is also a senior at Cabot High School. She is a member of the PALS Program or Partners in Learning. It is a National FFA Organization program.

Rebekah owns a race car and has raced for several years. She often donates half of her winnings to charities. She's donated money for breast cancer research, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and she donated nearly $4,000 to the PALS Program.

Thank you Rebekah for your generosity and also thinking of others!
