The First Ever “Classys Awards Banquet 2017
May 17, 2017
It was great night to celebrate more than 100 district employees as the first ever “Classys” Banquet was held Tuesday, May 9th, at the Cabot Freshman Academy cafeteria.
Close to 150 classified/support staff members were nominated by their peers and members in the community for going above and beyond the call of duty every day.
Superintendent Dr. Tony Thurman welcomed everyone to the event and spoke highly of all our nominees, praising them for their hard work and dedication to the Cabot School District.

The honorees along with their guests enjoyed dinner served by administrators and Cabot School Board members. They were also entertained thanks to our talented forensic students who performed “Smoke on the Mountain.” Some of our amazing choir students also performed for the honorees during dinner.
Cabot School Board President Ricky Hill addressed the crowd thanking each and every “Classy” for their commitment to making the district the best.
Steve Roberts, the Associate Executive Director of the Arkansas Activities Association and former Cabot School District Athletic Director served as guest speaker. He thanked the honorees for their service, for always having amazing attitudes, and said they are a major reason the Cabot School District is one of the best.
Thank you to the Panther Foundation for sponsoring the banquet. Each honoree was given a trophy and a lunch bag.
Also a special thank you for Pam Clem, Roger Tonnesson, and Karen Davis for making the first ever Classys a reality and a success!
Congratulations to all our Classys!
